I have made no secret that London is one of my favourite places on the planet! Whenever I have the opportunity to pop over for a visit I take it. The reason for my most recent trip was to see the one and only Champagne Papi in concert, that’s Drake for all you folk not in the know! I am aware I could have gone to see him in Dublin but what would be the fun in that?!
I flew over from Shannon on Valentine’s day morning and was in Victoria station in central London by lunch time where I met my friend. She took me to Notting Hill for lunch, I couldn’t tell you where we dined but it was really good! Notting Hill has to be one of my favourite parts of the city and where I would want to live if I was a Londoner. The houses are all so pretty and there are gorge little cafes and eateries around every corner.
After lunch we headed back to my friends house to get ready for our date with Drizzy! I got dolled up and enjoyed some prinks. We then had to leave pretty early to get to the O2 arena which is at the other side of London. It took the bones of an hour to get across town. If you get there early there are lots of bars and restaurants to wine and dine in before the show. We got some pizza in Zizzis before heading in.
The show itself was unbelievable. DVSN and Young Thug were supporting before the main man came on stage just after half 9. It was well worth the money as he brought out a few guests on stage – he was joined by grime artist Giggs and singer Kyla on our night.
We got up early-ish the next morning and went back to the beautiful Notting Hill for some breakfast. We paid a visit to Farm Girl on Portobello Road. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. The food served is all really fresh and nourishing. I went for scrambled eggs and avocado and this amazing Rose Latte. Can you deal?!
We spent a couple hours roaming around Notting Hill and decided to pay a visit to Biscuiteers Boutique, a gorgeous little biscuit shop. Everything was super pretty! We decided to sit in and try one of their iced biscuits each along with a shake. It was so, so, soooo good! I don’t really have a sweet tooth but this place is well worth a visit. I also picked up a cute little iced Batman biscuit for my nephew – you cannot get on a plane and not bring him back a pressie!
I flew home that evening from Stansted so had to get a train out from the city. It was such a short trip but I really packed a lot in. I am excited to get back there very soon and was already contemplating my next trip over a glass of Prossecco in the airport.
Apologies for the quality of some of the pics in this post- I didn’t bring my camera as it was such a short stay!
